2.0.2
WordPress 2.0.2 is out.
Has anyone noticed that they have like a monthly release? Anywho, It's really easy to upgrade. So don't worry about cPanel. It's just upload, and click the Upgrade link at http://yoursite.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php |

Just to reinforce the notice from twirp, 2.02 was a security release so it is important to upgrade as soon as possible. Devs state, "The problems addressed are unannounced XSS issues that were privately discovered and reported to the WordPress team".

I need help with upgrading mine. I asked how to upgrade over
the wordpress support forums, but I don't seem to be getting much help from them at all. They gave me a detailed upgrade instructions, and I found that to be really confusing. Someone also told me to follow the html instructions with the zipped wordpress 2.0.2 folder. They told me I had to back up my database, and I did that with a plugin, but I don't know how to backup my wordpress files in the phpadmin. I tried to do that with the phpadmin, but I accidentally deleted my wp-users, and I can't seem to get it back. Should I delete my SQL database and start from scratch? I'm pretty new to wordpress and everything. I have no clue what i'm doing at all. |

I wish I could help you but my SQL skills rate right up there with brain surgery. How much data did you have? With luck, someone who is SQL smart will step in and help you out.
The upgrade itself is easy in that as twirp said, you just ftp the folders to your site (overwriting as needed) and then point your browser to the upgrade.php file and thats about it. Hope you get it figured out

If you've somehow deleted things in your database, you should just restore the db from backup and redo the process... or if you feel like starting from scratch, that always works. ![]() |

Thanks Kayla, and the rest of you for trying to help me out. I have decided to start from scratch and restart with everything. I didn't know about the upgrade.php. I also didn't know that I could over-write the wordpress files. Thanks for being so helpful!! You guys are awesome!!! I really do appreciate it!
