Music? How?
Hey there,
How can I put some mp3's online so when people visit my page, they can listen to the song, BUT, not allowing them to download it. There are many plugins that do this, but users can alwas go to source of the page and then see the link to the file and download it. Is there a way of secruring this and limit it from happening? If I use .htaccess, then the plugin itself cannot get to the file ![]()

As much as I really don't recommend playing music when someone visits a page, unless they're specifically expecting it, Flash is probably the best route to go. It's easy to do and there's a number of Flash players that work well off of XML.

And if they are not owned by you, it's still against the TOS. Just listening to the music doesn't make it alright.
And yeah, Flash is what I would use. |

One more point to add: if they can listen to it, then they can download it. If it is simply an mp3 embedded within Flash, then it is in their cache.

And technically, they have to download it to hear it.
And even streaming it...some programs can capture, and if not you can always just record it as it plays. |
