I think that I've just entered the twilight zone. It's now working! All I did was reboot this morning.

I specified a db as explained earlier in this thread. However, there is a "Databases" link that gives the user access to all dbs. Is there a way to disable the databases link?

It's too bad that there isn't a more robust permission system. I'd like to be able to create users that have access to specified databases.

Haugland - I appreciate your kind offer.

I'm not sure of the line number anymore -- may have changed -- but line 75 should be a line where you specify one database to work with. That will limit them to the one database.

I had already made the change. On my version it's line 51. -$cfg['Servers'][$i]['only_db'].

Where I went wrong is the user, which has permissions to all dbs. I changed it to the speciic user and all is well.

Thanks to all that have helped!

I thought it would be the best to post here so you know what I'm talking about.

So I got PHPMyAdmin installed and the one hostee I have at the moment can access it. I've added the hostee's details into the config file of PHPMyAdmin so that only this user can access the installation. I'd like to give more users the possibility to reach that one installation (instead of uploading another one every time, it eats up about 12 MB of space!). Is this possible? I haven't found any information about that.
