Question Cube Cart Security

I have a site that I've set up Cube Cart for. It's on a Shared Hosting Plan. It's set up to receive payments with PayPal.

Everything I have read says there should be https in the address bar on any site you are making an online purchase from. This doesn't happen with my shared hosting plan. How do I make sure that the info is secure for my customers?

I'd love some help from someone who has set up a CubeCart shopping cart before (this is my FIRST attempt at ecommerce so pardon the ignorance). I'd also love to see sites with functioning cube carts for comparison.

Many thanks!

you need to apply for a SSL certificate.

contact the help desk by clicking the support link at top and open a ticket, they should be able to provide you with more info..

also make sure that you are running the latest cubecart.. there has been a security exploit found which is quite serious.. the exploit affects all versions prior to 3.0.12 (and 3.0.12 is affected unless you apply the patch available on cubecart.com) 3.0.13 will be released soon after a full security audit has been completed..
