can't access cpanel

I’m having trouble opening cpanel.
WHM works, and I can view my web sites.

Specifically, www.steigman.us is the cpanel I’m trying to access.

I get a log in, but when I put in username/pwd, all I get is “Waiting for steigman.us”

I’ve tried both Firefox (my usual) and Explorer. Rebooted the computer, cable modem, and router, no help.

I’ve tried :2082 and \cpanel.

I’ve submitted a ticket and they reset my password, (my original problem) and say they can access it fine, so it must be my firewall and to contact my system administrator.

Problem is that here, I am my system administrator.

I’ve disabled Mcaffee’s firewall and don’t use Windows Firewall (it is not enabled), and I’ve disabled AVG antivirus.
WHM works.
Still, all I get is Waiting on domainname when I try to access cpanel on any site I host.

If I put in the wrong password, it comes back quickly with Wrong Password, but if I put in the right password, it never comes back at all.

It sounds like it is being blocked somewhere, but I’m at a loss as to where.

It worked last time I used it, but that's been 6 months or more ago.

Any ideas?

Pat

Ok. Found the problem
McAfee Privacy was still blocking the port.
Removed the privacy software.
Now I've got cpanel.

Pat, thank you for updating us. I apologize that we didn't have advice to offer, seems we were stumped as well.

FYI, ZoneAlarmPro privacy settings were also the item that cause my problem with using FireFox on cPanel.
