is there a way i can protect my wordpress files or my posts so that i can be prepared for something like this, if it should happen again? I really didn't want to start all over again; but the hacker came so fast it gave me no other choice but to start from scratch again.

We need to find out what plug in may have caused this though.

Do you mind posting which ones that you used? I'd like to do some searches on them.

11. an older version of that JS pop up image thingy

and that's about it.

I'm sure there is more but that is most of it.

PS. Sitemeter caught the IP of the person that hacked into my site; should i report this IP to surpass or or not??

I also forgot to add that i had another plugin that was suppose to allow/enable javascript to work on wordpress as well. i forget what it was called though; and I requested about a javascript plugin on the wordpress forums. the javascript plugin i got was from this otto person: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/76844?replies=4

I have Wordpress running with several plugins, and never had a problem with this. I would advise you to also post this on the wordpress forum, so this can be investigated.
