.htaccess mod_rewrite except one folder

Hi,

I'm using wordpress and it's pretty permalinks. The only problem is that all other non-wordpress folders are also directed towards wordpress by the .htaccess mod_rewrite. Is there any way to exclude a folder from it's awful grasp?

Thanks in advance. :]

I believe creating a blank .htaccess page in each directory you (that doesn't correlate to wp) should do the trick.
