? instread of ' or "

Okay so... the SMF forum on one of my friends message boards that's on my server is acting very weird and has been since the attacks yesterday with sh104...

In her text when she post on the board, it's showing ? marks instead of ' or " for example:

He kept running and ran right up into a tree. She didn?t know what to do; she couldn?t climb up in the tree with heels and a dress on. I thought maybe it was the coding in the skin she had up but we even put the skin up that came with SMF and it's still doing it on there.

it could be that whatever attacks you are talking about, included some sort of SQL injection. With the help of mod_security a lot of those can be prevented, and they may have taken it to the point of disallowing escape characters, such as ' " \ / & and so on

id talk to support about it though, not much most of us here can do lol

Well see, it's not doing it on the other SMF forum we have... nor on the main site. I updated it to the new version the other day... but I also updated the other one and it's not doing that.
