Wordpress Spam - How to get rid of it

What do you use to stop WP spam?

Akismet plugin! It has let maybe one or two past, but has been so awesome that I haven't needed anything else!

But I thought this came with WP when you install.

Ah it does.. just have to activate it and sign up for that API key.
So that's it, huh! HMM!

That's all I use. There are many plugins to go along with it, but it has seriously stopped spam on mine.

Once you sign up for the API key, you can also download the wordpress stats plugin and use the key for that. It gives you some nice stats about visitors, and doesn't count your visit in the stats when you are logged in!

And also get wp-super-cache. A modification of the wp-cache plugin

SK has by far been the best anti-spam tool for WordPress that I've ever used.

I use SpamKarma too (because removed suggested it to me last week). Had it up a couple of days and it's stopped 14 spams already and sends me a nice little digest at the end of every day.
