My teacher wanted Joomla!. Is there a bridge anyone knows of for phpBB 3 and Joomla?

From a quick glance I think they only have it fro phpbb2

Thats not good

I was going to go with phpbb 2 but it doesnt support pms with attatchments. Any other ideas?
