Website for Class

I have been asked by a teacher about the possibility of developing a website for her English classes. She would like the capabilities of a forum which I can do. She would also like to be able to return student papers to them with grades added in. She wants only that student to be able to view only their paper. Does anyone know of a way to do this either through a CMS, htaccess, or another way?

Brennan

She could always just send them as a PM to each student as an attachment on the forums since you said she wanted that.

I will offer that to her. Would there be a way of using htaccess to send different users to a different directory?

You could probably set up password protection for specific folders and assign them each a username and pw.

Can be done in cpanel > Password Protect Directories

A lot of the major CMS's have phpbb integration. I forget which ones me and keleigh were looking at that had it. I think joomla does.

I will give her those both as options. She is ok with computers so she can probably handle the PM option, but I am afraid creating directorys for each student and password protecting them might be a little difficult for her.

yeah. its easy to show her how to PM but with the other option after you get all the directories set up for her you would have to teach her how to ftp the files to each folder, which isn't always fun
