Unhappy I need help from a Wordpress guru

I just upgraded my Wordpress installation to 2.3.3 and when I make a post I get this error message. The post still shows up though.

Quote:
WordPress database error: [Table 'armymomn_wp1.wp_categories' doesn't exist]
SELECT c.cat_ID AS ID, MAX(p.post_modified) AS last_mod FROM `wp_categories` c, `wp_post2cat` pc, `wp_posts` p WHERE pc.category_id = c.cat_ID AND p.ID = pc.post_id AND p.post_status = 'publish' AND p.post_type='post' GROUP BY c.cat_id

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/armymomn/public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php:176) in /home/armymomn/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 390
Can someone tell me what I need to do to fix this? Everything else is working great (which surprised the heck out of me, since I was scared to death to try to attempt the upgrade on my own).

One suggestion I have for you, would to be to log into your Cpanel account, click on the MySQL Databases icon, find the database for your current WP install (at the very top) and then click either repair db or check db to see what the outcome is.

I'll look up more about this and see what the solution is. =)

I fixed the problem. I updated my google sitemaps plugin but evidently it didn't update. I deleted it altogether then uploaded the updated one again... activated it and all is fine now.

Thanks anyway Roxy

That sounds about right. Usually an install of Wordpress without outside plugins will not have any issues upgrading. Plugins usually cause any rare problems.

But then there's what Wordpress has to say about those errors:
FAQ Troubleshooting WordPress Codex

Spaces... so I'd say the top reasons would be plugins and lots of custom editing that can create small mistakes.

Well, they do say to deactivate all plug-ins before upgrading and then to reactivate them after the upgrade is complete. I only use like 6 plug-ins so it's not a big deal to do that.

My SMF forum on the other hand... I've customized so much of it with my own coding that upgrading to 2.0 when it comes out will be a major undertaking..
