I saw the one on my dedicated go red only once so far. I told it to create thumbnails and medium size images of a ton of images in a folder. It shot up, but quickly went back down shortly.
The one on the shared server stays low, but every once in a while it spikes up. It used to be linked to on some page of my site, but it was changed to a text output since I didn't see a need for an image. Images are good for putting it on this forum or on a site not on the server, but I don't see a need for it to be displayed on the server itself, except if someone wants to get overly decorative, but then CSS and stuff could be used... |

What figures are you basing the load percentages on?

I can't say how accurate the math is, I just used the crap that did the data processing from this script:
Server Load Fun I think kayla made a repost of the final version. I dun remember too well, but anyways. The way it works it pretty simple, mathematically, but I don't get how CPUs work, so I wouldn't be able to say that it's "accurate" or not. I haven't had time to sit down and look at the math behind it all. I don't think I will be making time anytime soon either, because this script varies cross-platform. It fails to work on windows, and I think you have to change the file you're using on linux. I don't normally work with anything that isn't cross-platform compatible. I only did this to learn layering with the image GD, in all actuallity. |
