so i am thinking of installing the new 1.3 IPB on my domain. i was reading thru the instructions, and i came across this:

Clicking on proceed will present you with a simple information form. You will need to know your mySQL username and password at this point. If you do not know it, please ask your web host - in most cases it is different from the FTP log in information.

and i am not sure how to proceed, cause i dont know what my default mySQL login or password is?

is there a place where i can change this in cPanel?

All its saying is that you need to create the database with an assigned user so that the script may access it to create the tables it needs. Log into cPanel and create a database and user by selecting 'MySQL Databases' from withen cPanel. When you create a database, say you named it 'IPB', it will actually create it with the name '<cPanel username>_IPB'. That name is what you will put in the form. The same applies to creating a user. After you create the user you then have to assign it to the database you would like it to have access to which all this can be done from 'MySQL Databases' withen cPanel. The easiest thing would be to use Scripta and it'll do all that good stuff for you, you just specify the admin username and password you want.

alright, sounds good. when it gets up and going, that would be great. i really do not feel like taking down the forum, and doing the manual upgrade to the forum. not that i cant, i just dont feel like doing all that work. so when the upgrade process is up and running, that would be awesome.

p.s. anyone have a list of feature/improvements that are in the new 1.3?
