I have been getting a lot of Blank moderated comments in WordPress, or to make the situation clearer, I have been receiving emails that say the following;
Quote:
![]() I went into my Phpmyadmin and checked the table (I don't know what I was really looking for) but I did notice that under Space Usage the Overhead was highlighted so I optimised the table. Besides that, I also had 3000 spam comments so I deleted them. I thought this may have fixed the problem, only to find I received another blank comment today. It seems to be a problem that some people are having but no one really knows what to do. I had a look around WordPress forums, found this thread which is the situation I am in, but no one knows what to do. This thread also describes my situation. Any idea is greatly appreciated, should I contact Surpass support and see if they can help? I had thought about it, but wasn't sure if it was in there area. I love using WordPress and find it distressing that I may not be getting all comments. ![]() Last edited by Kya; August 24th, 2008 at 3:28 AM.. |

I am still having problems with this, and I believe I will have to contact support because I have tried a new installation of WordPress and it seems to be acting strange as well. I installed the latest version 2.6.1 and went to change my password and it says then it won't let me log in at all, saying the user name doesn't exist at all.
Before trying the new install, I also went into cPanel, clicked on MySQL Databases, checked the database and it did have some errors that needed to be repaired, so I repaired them and then asked a friend to comment on my site and I still got a blank comment for moderation. I'll contact Surpass support and get them to test the settings on the server in case something has gone a bit fuzzy, and they may have some idea what the problem actually is. For future reference I will post in here once the issue is hopefully resolved in case anyone else may be in the same boar. ![]() |

That's what I thought. Maybe there is a plugin that was causing this? Did you try running without any plugins enabled?

I had turned off all plugins at one stage and was still having trouble. There have been times in the past when weird things have happened to WordPress installations and support have had to turn on and off different settings.
I don't know how it works, but I am just glad that the comments are working again, and have hope they will continue to keep on working. ![]() |

Oh poo, the blank comments are back again. This time I have made sure all the plugins are disabled. The only one I do have active is Akismet. Maybe I should try disabling this one as well? I have contacted support again so hopefully we can find some resolve to the issue.
