Did support put a file called php.ini in your folder when they fixed it last time? Can you check if there is a file there?
Another things you might do is make another test blog in another folder on your domain. Just upload the files and create a new database for it and see if you get blank comments with that one as well.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I do have a file called php.ini should I post what it has inside?
Surpass did install another WordPress for me and I have now moved this to the main directory because I thought it had solved the problem, but it still happens with this one as well. ): |

I am still having this problem, but I thought occured to me and I feel folish for not looking sooner but I didn't realise. I decided to look in the error_log (duh!) and the following are the most common;
