Hello. There's a web gallery in the Fantastico list located here:
http://www.surpasshosting.com/fantastico.html

but I don't see it listed when I access Fantastico (that name!, hehe).

Am I looking in the wrong place??

thanks!

are you kidding? I can't install that kind of stuff. Fantastico was made for people like me.

I'd love it if Movable Type was added to it so I could save the $40 install fee.

I'll check into it and see just how involved a 4images installation is.

thanks!

YES YOU CAN! belive in yourself, all you have to do is download some files to your computer. then use a program called: cuteFTP, or flashFXP or whatever you like to upload it to your site. just like you upload your content. then just go to whatever place you installed it too like: www.yoursite.com/whereyouUPload
with internet Explorer or whatever your browser is and there should be an install file there, click it. fill out a SIMPLE form and your done. all fantstico does is fill out forms, and you still have to fill out fantsticos form so its kinda the same.

you can do it, its OK.
if you need ANY help, post here.

Hi Andy,

I thought I was going to run into all sorts of issues if I installed it manually. Actually, I did (minor issues, actually), but that was because I didn't read all of the installation files.

Nonetheless, download the .zip files (both program file and language pack (unless you're fluent in German)), from the 4Images website, unzip them, read the installation files under the docs directory, and install away!

There is one issue that the install files fail to expand on, and I made a note of it here.

Good luck! It's a fantastic program once it's up and running.

Cheers,
Lawrence

whats that browser? never saw one like that...
Quote:

Database Server Type: mySQL 4
Database Name/username/pass: you need to make.*
Prefix: leave it like that.

Admin username: the username you want to login with to the administration of your 4images.
Admin pass: the password you want.
*go to Cpanel>>mySQL>>create new db: make up a database name for 4images>>create db>>create user>>make up a username and password for the database>>>select the username you want to be in the db you made.

note: the databases you made and the username always have your Cpanel login before. example: if you login to Cpanel with "admin" then the database you create will be: "admin_whateveryoucalledit".
same with user: "admin_usernameyoumade".

fill out your form and enjoy.

sorry for over-quoting, but anyway..

Ok, so my database name, datebase username, and datebase password will all be preceeded by andypop_ right? ...then, you never mentioned anything about the 'Database Server Hostname' field. What goes there, or do i leave it blank?

in case you wanna see it again:
http://www.andypop.com/temp/4images.jpg

..and my browser is Camino for OS X.

by the way, I REALLY appreciate this!
