Internal Server Error (wp)

Hello, I am troubleshooting for one of my hostees and am having a problem with this site only upon transferring servers, my guess is chmod errors which i have tried to fix but i guess i didnt Thanks in advance for your help
first off this is the error log message
[Mon Jun 29 17:15:19 2009] [error] [client ] SoftException in Application.cpp:252: File "/home/s/public_html/thoughts/index.php" is writeable by group
[Mon Jun 29 17:15:18 2009] [error] [client ] File does not exist: /home/s/public_html/500.shtml
and this is what the homepage shows,
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmastera.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
WebServerX Server at a.com Port 80

I posted this on the wp forums but I figured I would see if anyone here knows how to go about fixing this issue

This can be because the permissions are set wrong on the files. Because our servers run PHPSuExec, files should not have permissions set higher than 644, and folders no higher than 755. The files will work as normal with these permissions.

Also be sure to check that there are no php settings in the htaccess file (such as upload limits or register globals). These should instead be moved to a php.ini file.

If you are still unable to get this working, we'll be happy to look into the issue if you submit a ticket https://desk.surpasshosting.com
