hotlink protection question
I would like to know, if there was a more easy way to allow a site that uses multiple servers.
In example, if someone wanted to allow images on my page, but, www.aoibara.net was only the main page, and the content was on, in example rose.aoibara.net, petal.aoibara.net and bloom.aoibara.net.. Could they just put in, maybe *.aoibara.net and have it allow all of them? Or must I try and find every server this page uses? :beh: |

hi digital blue, can you clarify a bit please?
i need to know if the scenario is aoibara.net has hotlinking enabled and you want to make sure the subdomains like bloom.aoibara.net can use images from aoibara.net? OR aoibara.net wants to use images where hotlinking has been enabled on other servers. like a 3rd party, just for an example, cnn.com OR I'm way off base and there is a third possibility. Please clarify. |

lol. Let me explain.
I post on www.go-gaia.com, a message board/game type thing. I want to be able to hotlink my own signature images, and things to go into my signature. The main page is on go-gaia.com, but the message boards, and content are on a dozen or more servers. So, as you post, you might start out on ian.go-gaia.com, but end up on gino.go-gaia.com after you post. And, since there are so many, I was wondering if I could put in a "wild card", and allow all servers. Without having to find all of them, and add them all. is that more clear? |

Yes, the wildcards should work just fine.

Check it now. I changed your .htaccess file and it should be working for you.
The actual wildcard is .*, but because of the way Cpanel hotlink protection works, it can't add this correctly. You have to manually edit the .htaccess for your site for it to work. I also cleaned up all those extra entries that had the $$$'s on them.
