When you click the backup icon in Cpanel, you get a page that says that backup is not enabled on this machine.
However, if you click the link that says "Generate/Download a full backup", it will generate a backup, compress it, and drop it in the root of your space. This is surprising if you are not expecting it, and find out when your notice disk usage has suddenly almost doubled! (simply fixed by deleting the big file it creates, but quite a shock to find your disk space go boom). Are we supposed to be using the backup function? I am assuming that we could fpt the compressed backup file to our home machine, then use it to restore our files if they were lost or corrupted? It says, "downloads cannot be fetched using this module." Does this mean that the "restore a home backup" is not working? What about the SQL backup - it seemed to work, but for some reason the SQL file that it generated was a different size than the SQL backup I got from using Phpmyadmin. Has the SQL backup on the Cpanel been tested? Panama |

I know that the surpass admins are busy people, and this is a low importance question.
But I would like an answer sometime. Maybe if other users who have the same question add a "me too!" to this thread we can get it moved up a notch. Panama |
