hotlink protection not working?

i was making a test about this because i'll need it for a subdomain, i have the image:

http://www.pikaflash.com/xtras/kaosn...ara%5B1%5D.gif

the .htaccess file inside the folder
http://pikaflash.com/xtras/kaosnuevos/

has only this:

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www\.)?pikaflash.com(/)?.*$ [NC]
RewriteRule .*\.(gif|jpg|jpeg|bmp|png)$ http://pikaflash.com/xtras/kaosnuevos/nolink.jpe [R,NC]

so i try to link it from surmunity (or any other site not allowed to link the image) and the image is displayed:

the error image i want to use is:

so the hot linking protection is not working, what am i doing wrong?

It looks like you have solved it. The "nolink.jpe"(error image) image is the only picture that shows here at the forum anyway.

It's because the image is stored on your computer

yeah i did it at home in both, explorer and firefox (cleaning the cache) but i continued watching the brown bunny, now i'm at the office and can see it working, well, then i can use it, thanks for everything

mm. is this failing again?

someone is linking that image from another board and i see the image working right (not the error image), do you see the avatar with the girl or the blue/yellow error image i posted before in this topic? thanks.
