Script says No GD when it is installed

When I try to install Noahs classifieds either by Scripta or by hand I get the same error or in my opinion its and error. The install script says there is no GD installed on the server .. The problem is that there is GD installed. I reinstalled it just in case. Still the same.. take a look at the quote below.

also I ran a phpinfo and cant find GD there.. Is it supposed to be?/

System configuration checking...

The config file seems to be ok.

The default admin password is not changed yet! Please change it clicking on the 'Change password' link on the menu bar!

Warning: your server doesn't have an installed GD library.
(This library is responsible in php programs for the image manipulation, so it might be anyway useful if you put it on your server. In our program it is called for creating thumbnail images to the full sized uploaded pictures. Without this support the program can't generate thumbnails, this way the browser have to shrink 'on-the-fly' each big image in each pages where thumbnails can appear. This method works, but it is far from effective (the page have to download every time every big image). )

The send mail test has been successfully completed.

If you want to begin to work with the software and you want this page to disappear click here.
You can access this configuration checking page whenever you want if you click on the 'Check' link in the menubar.

best to report this to support. Your GD package on that server may be in a different path.

i actually had that issue with using 4images. however going through the software itself i noticed there were some chmod changes needed in the includes folder to make in order for it to recognise gd and imagemagik. while waiting for the support ticket .. you might want to check noahs site and documentation for the script.

You are correct and Surpass came throug again

In most cases its something involved with the code like what BigJohn said about the path. However Noah's has nearly zero usefull documentation and nothing on the code. Their faqs are helpfull for users but admins with problems are out of luck.

Support fixed me up and it was in fact a problem with the GD. It wasn't comiled into php. I wasn't thinking about that. I just installed it from the rpm and figured that was all.

thanks again.
