CHMOD problems -_-
It's more than likely that this question's come up before... but setting a file permission to 755 does allow others to see the file, does it not? or do i need to change the permission in the folder containing the file to this as well? I use WS_FTP 95 LE however after I do this it never works and I cannot see my files. .. thanks if anyone can help. =\
..oh yes... stupid question : do the permissons apply to all files including image files? thanks. |

Can you give me some more information? What do you mean "see the file" are you talking about just image files? Or do you want someone to be able to click a link and actually see code?
755 gives read and execute permissions to a file. John

i wanted to be able to see an image file after i typed in the link in the address bar and i had just noticed a minute ago that there was an option in the hotlink protect section to enable/disable this type of file viewing (silly me O.o)
thanks for the help though much appreciated. |
