Need PHP News Script Ideas!

I know there are a lot of blog, CMS and gallery scripts available but Im not sure if any of these will do what I am really looking for. Here is what I want, and if anyone knows which script will be able to do this I would very much appreciate your input:

I need a script for charter fishing websites. The script would be used for a fishing report page. I need this page to be able to be updated by the charter captain via the web. He will preiodicly post a fishing report on it. I would like it to be able to post pictures within his reports. The pictures would have to be able to be resized and thumbnailed automaticly on the server side. I would also like previous reports to be automaticly archived and linked so that people could go back and read his old reports. I currently do this for him manualy and it is very time consuming. If you need an idea of what I am talking here is a link to the page I am talking about: http://www.newlattitude.com/Reports.htm Basicly I want something that will do what we have automaticly via the web. I also want to add web based automatic photo gallery, maybe there is something that would work hand in hand with the reports page?

Any ideas, examples or suggestions would be very appreciated!

Just for a single news script, you do not need Xoops. That would be a waste of time. You'd have to change your entire layout format for that.

Try downloading and setting up CuteNews (a very simple-to-set up PHP script which is fully customizable and supports php-includes). To download this free script, go to www.cutephp.com and click the "Download CuteNews v1.3.2" link. For support, post back and I'll try to help you or use the support forums at http://cutephp.com/forum/.

Good luck! ;-)

Steve,
Looks like you may have pointed me to what I am looking for! I will try to install it over the weekend and see. It appears that it will upload images also, am I right?

Thanks for your help!

It does have an area where you can upload pictures right from its interface, correct.

You are very welcome.

If that doesn't work, theres FusionPHP's FusionNews 3.6 (or .7 if its out yet). GREAT script.

You guys should consider that for Scripta (not that the installer they have is not good, it would promote it a bit more.

Fusion's FusionNews and CutePHP's CuteNews are similar scripts. Some have even said that one may be a copy of another (with a different layout).
