DADA Mail Bug!!!! Please Note

Hi Surpasser,

I have asked to surpass support for the problem about DADA mail system, where I installed the program and when I subscribe to the list then "500 Internal Server Error" exists. They try very hard and their best to solve this problem but it is not solved.

So I spend my time today reinstall the DADA system and check, and finally I found the bug.

In the mail list setting, DO NOT uncheck the box for "Archive Your Messages" under Archives Option. When I have unchecked this box and subscribe to the mail then 500 Internal Server Error message comes out then also never receive the mail sending out from DADA. When I check this again then it works properly.

I post this message to let other surpassers know my experience with hope that this may help you. Besides this is to let Surpass Support note this trouble so that they may be able to find out for fix.

Please also note I found I cannot chnage list owner email address after I have setup a list. When I did so, the same error "500 Internal Server" came out again. But I change back the owner email address to the earlier one then the error gone and work back normally.

This DADA script is a cool mailing list system, but very funny!

you can probably edit some files in your dada install to change those values AFTER the list is created, or perhaps they're stored in a database?

google won't help much on this one.

dadamail is freely available but the tehcnical docs are not.

however, relief is just 25-50 bucks away. for that you can get the magic book and the plugins plus some support from the guy who wrote dadamail.

i don't pay for much software, but this is worth the money.

Also, using cPanel's built in Error log can tell you valuable info about WHY it is throwing up a 500 error.

This is the final solution for DADA Mail Error "500 error message" I found.

The error used to come up because I think Scripta installed the script incorrectly.

Because on Surpasshosting we are using sendmail path is: /usr/sbin/sendmail

It is advised that we'll need to change the $MAILPROG variable to reflect that.

This variable is one of the first four variables in the Config.pm file.
