Design for 2 browsers, and you'll cover the majority. If you include Mozilla in that 'pair' you're going to keep 99% of netcrap users happy, and then use IE5 or 6 to get the other 94% of the internet....

So sorry, Mac guys, but thankfully Safari interprets very close to Firefox.

I agree with Bigjohn on this one, I realy only code for Firefox but yes I do check IE but honestly when it looks good in FF it usually does in everything else

I think that says all it needs to say about Macs in there... *grins*

(That's Welcome To Internet Helpdesk ala Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie... I highly recommend you go listen to it, avaliable for free somewhere on the internet, but I can't quite find where... Hmm..)

disclaimer: I have nothing against Mac computers. *nods*

And as for schools... it'd be nice if they can keep their software up to date, but considering they're generally lucky to get semi-new hardware every 10 years.. and old computers do have problems running new systems. (I know... my 6 year old desktop goes through some really tough trials). But hey, in a perfect world, they would be.
Why pay? Because I've used Opera for two years and I wasn't comfortable using Firefox. There's nothing wrong with paying for software, especially if you enjoy it. I don't always like taking the cheap route and using free software, though sometimes it's a better software. Nothing against Firefox, but it's way over-hyped and other than web standard compliance overs very little over IE. Most damage to your computer through your browser comes from careless browsing -- which is the users fault.

By the way.. Don't bother trying to fill me in on all the advantages of Firefox over *browser title here* cause I've already decided which browser suits my habits best. Worst people on the web are braggers of Gmail accounts and Firefox preachers.

You got it all wrong.. I have nothing against Firefox, but it seems that the users of it are especially eagar to preach it. I just hate preaching in general.
