You may have a valid reason for continuing to pay for Opera, but I don't see a purpose in starting to pay. The whole comfort thing is developed by using a browser for an extend period of time.. so if you start by using IE or Firefox or Netscape or whatever, you'll become more comfortable with that and don't need to pay. As IE provides me with all I need in a browser.. I'm happy. I like simplicity And hey, I started a smear campaign against gmail in an online community I'm in, because it was getting pathetic people begging for the account, so I hear you on that part. Of course, I have a gmail for myself now, but only cause my best friend offered it to me... and I generally just mail myself stuff when I'm away from home to it (pictures, link, that kind of stuff) (Okay, I'll rephrase.. it wasn't exactly a smear campaign, just the fact that the people were being pathetic and making it into the new "livejournal," since we had issues in that community when LJ was on invite only. I have no problem with the concept of gmail, it does it's job.) Quote:

I was not preaching any browser!!!! I only stated that when coding Firefox is the only browser I worry about! If all other browsers have an inferiority complex that is not my problem. Let Them go to Dr. Phil for counseling.

*bump
I know this thread is dry and crusty, but here's an additional goodie to clear things up. Everyone should have a read! http://maccaws.org/kit/primer/ That's why CSS wins in a prettly little nutshell. And yes, most people who will teach you web pages still teach outdated table methods. There is not one university in the united states that offers a degree or certification in web standards and accessibility programming, even though it is required by government law in 3 countries, and suggested by Goverment Section 508. Anyone want to open a university with me? Hehehe... ![]() |
