Installing Mambo components/modules

I downloaded quite a few components/modules and I can't install them because it says :

"No installation file found, when i upload it, or when i click install from dir."

How can i install them?

The zips only include an xml page and a php page.

Where did you get these modules/components from? I suggest mamboportal.com - you upload the zips

Sometimes the zips are not put together properly... they must include certain things to work.

If you find one that has no installation file you can still upload manually to the appropriate directory such as modules, components or templates via ftp.

Just unzip it first and upload the appropriate files. Usually it's only the .php file you will need to upload.

Upload via ftp. They should now show in your module manager. Don't upload via ftp then try also uploading via the module install. That won't work. You may have to actually create the missing xml file.
