yeah, cause it's all programmed into your config php file... so you need to have it CHMOD to like... 666, I think... for it to change properly when you mess with the settings.

change it to 777 then back to 644 once ur done for the changes..

ok find the config file in the mambo directory, right click on it and go down to "Properties/CHMOD" change it the number to 777. Make ur changes to the global thing....go back to SmartFTP and make the file number 644 again
