hi,

I have 2 addon domains, when i do into scripta to install a script on one of these addon domains, i cant as i can only add it onto my primary domain.

I want to use scripta on my other addon domains also

Why cant I do so?

If you want it to go to the ROOT (i.e. - www.addonhere.com), then you can. YOu simply specify the root directory name as the path.

Once installed, You may have to edit any config files to specify the 'root domain' as 'addondomain' instead of 'maindomain', but it should work.

I dont quite understand what you mean:

1, If you mean access cpanel from the addon domain - Tried, failed.

2, If you mean select the path to install from a drop-down box in scriapta install then.. i dont see one.

when you go to install a script, it asks you "what directory".

use your ADDON DOMAIN directory.

No I mean as part of the site of the addon domain, so it would be like..

http://www.primarydomain.com/addondomain/phpbb

But it doesnt let you do that.

What i want to do is basically install a phpBB forum and some other scripts in www.nsmadhouse.com which is the addon domain.

So i want it to be like www.nsmadhouse.com/phpbb
or www.nsmadhouse.com/blog or something

you have to do that manually. Scripta is not made for complex installations.

i dont understand how that is complex

i would have thought you would install it in
http://www.primarydomain.com/addondomain/random name

which would resolve to
www.nsmadhouse.com/random name

HOW IS THAT COMPICATED !!!!!!!!!

but it does say in c-panel
You must install the board in a top level directory. Example: http://gamingforum.org/forum is a valid place to install the board http://gamingforum.org/user/andy/forum is not.

so basiaclly u cant do it

but i think you could, install it in
http://www.primarydomain.com/random name
then copy that into
http://www.primarydomain.com/addondomain/random name
then goto the scripts site and find the install instructions

like phpbb
and find the files it tells you to edit, and edit them to include the next level

but it does seem stupid you have to put it in you root directory (stupid scripta )

Couldn't you make a subdomain.. being the same folder as your add-on domain, then install it to a folder on the subdomain? Suppose it would call for the same editing of config files though..

I'd say just upload the install and do it manually. Scripts generally aren't too difficult to install.

1 - as YAHOOADAM indicated, you could install it and copy it. However, Isfahan was looking for a completely automated solution.

2 - you can make subdirectories of Addon domains as Haugland suggests. These will, however, not be 'subdirectories' of the addon domain folder. They will be located directly within public_html. However, this SHOULD work....but you may have to edit config files to set the domain name properly ... not sure.
