Best Shopping Cart?
Hiya.
Hope this is the right place to post -- I've just joined, and one of the features that attracted me the most was the free shopping carts. The choices have me a little confused / overwhelmed, though, so my question: Which shopping cart offers the following: 1) Downloadable products 2) PayPal / Credit Cards through PayPal 3) easy integration into my existing site I appreciate any and all opinions! Thanks, matt |

Don't know if this helps but OSCommerce has the ability to do 1 and 2. As for the 3rd, I'm not sure how easy it is to "integrate" it into an existing site but you could always set up a subdomain and skin it to look similiar to your current site. Just a suggestion.

Thanks - I have downloaded OSCommerce, but the lack of documentation is daunting. I need a system that will handle both "downloadable" and physical products... it looks like OSC will do it, but I don't want to have to redesign my site to fit it...
Thanks again! |

My Own FollowUp
Okay, after pages of Google searching, I found cpcommerce, a small, indie-run shopping cart / CMS. I'm experimenting with it now, but it just might do the trick!

I forgot that OSC did downloadable stuff too. That might be the way to go for downloadable mp3's, videos, etc once I finally get my music site running. It's for me and a few others who have been talking about getting a "label" together. Downloadable stuff for very cheap would work great, and OSC is probably going to be the way to go.

Its actually a good way if people are really active on a host.
Well, I got a few questions: 1. Does this host have Zen Cart, Cube Cart installed (Fantastico)? 2. How is the tolerance on mp3 files (comercially agreed)? Commercially agreed means that I have agreements directly with artists to re-distribute their work through a small network of djs/soundsystems/radio-profiles but not really commercially as iTunes. |
