Jamie,

The community site looks really good (so does your hosting site, for that matter).

Just wondered if you are aware of the problems with the MS-Weather module that you have on the community site?

Seems that Yahoo decided not to let us scrape their weather pages any longer. You get the current weather conditions, but the 5 day forecast is gone. Bummer, because it was the best of the weather modules. If I come up with a suitable replacement before you, I'll let you know. If you find a good one, please let me know, as I'm using that module on a couple of sites, and had plans to use it in more places.

Keep up the good work.

John

Failure is not an option. It comes standard with all Microsoft products.

Here is one but I simply use it for the ease of posting news and articles. I decided not to use the members features at all. I kinda wish I had went with Mambo as I thought I could do more with it but I am very happy with Xoops.

John, thanks for the comments about my sites. It's always nice to hear positive feedback once in a while. Don't get me wrong, I'm very open to constructive criticism but every once in a while it's nice to hear "good job". So thanks for that.

No, I was not aware of the problems with the weather module. I've been neglecting work on the site for a while with other projects going on so I don't know how long it's been like that. That really sucks. I'll check the xoops site and see if anyone has posted about it yet. Man, I don't know any other modules that were as good as that one. I'll let you know if I find anything worthy of replacement or *cross your fingers* maybe a fix for it. Wow, can't over how much that sucks.

I've never been a fan of CMS'. Code your own.
What if I code my own cms? Is that bad?

Personally, if xoops wasn't around, I wouldn't has as much intrest in web applications as I do, and wouldn't be teaching myself php in the first place.

Yeah, let me throw in my option of Jamie's reseller hosting site as well: it's great. I'm going to be using xoops on mine as well. Yours looks great though. Very professional indeed.

edit: i just noticed that the customer quote box has a couple extra border lines around it though.

This is a website for the local Republicans. Just started on this one. Still need to add a lot of the content.
The church site is my favorite design, of the two, but they both look really good. :thumbsup

I use Xoops for some things... If I remember correctly...

Hogsmeade Village Council and
Hogsmeade Village Paper

Those are the only two I really remember... Both of them are for an online community sub-community I run... Neither are very active at the moment.. but I'll be working on the promotion within the community when I get a chance. But yeah.. unless you strongly understand Harry Potter, then you really won't get the site as a whole even... I'm a dork, what can I say.

I've had some issues with Xoops, so I've been split between using it and Mambo... I like Mambo's transitions between pages better.

I definately need to work some more on actually customizing these to be my own anyways.

Ohoh, and I'm also fighting a battle over whether or not to use Mambo or Xoops when I redo my church's website to hand over the reigns to someone else.. Who shall win the battle royale?? I don't know...
