lol, but is that a good thing or a bad thing??
I prefer to have just a coded website... but I work with too many.. umm... shall I say... website-illiterate people? And I'm amused.. Quote:

Not wanting to change the direction of this post as it going very well but I wanted to add this information for John and anyone else that was interested. I have not found a suitable replacement for MS Weather. I do have a temporary fix for now. This is not exactly live on my site yet (meaning no active link, but you can see it here: http://www.surfstigler.com/modules/t...index.php?id=6 )
I have signed up for AccuWeathers's free service to show current radar, satellite, current conditions and 5 day forcast. I am just testing it right now so excuse the colors and such. I just wanted to show that it is an alternative. It only allows you to show one area, but gives the visitor an option to change the location and still stay in your site. It does link some of the maps and things back to their site but the links open in a new window which is good. I integrated it using tiny content and it works fine. The code they give you says to put part of the script in your head but I found that just by adding it to the body part above the actual text of the script allows it to work just fine. Here is the link for the accuweather sign up. It's free so I recommend it as a temporary (or permanent, who knows) fix for the msweather module being out of commision. http://netweather.accuweather.com/ad...ther_index.asp

I haven't done anything with it in about a week or two though. I need to go back through it and basically rehaul everything. Plus, I'm going to do the pages of the people themselves a little differently. |

I must say... your banner scared me, because of the angle my laptop screen was at... it was all scary and dark and.. scary. And Jamie, we're the one taking this post onto a tangent *G* Your addition was actually very cool.. I may adapt that myself.

I didn't even know what css was until I discovered xoops lol The banners are random....which banner was it? http://www.isthecoolest.net/headerpics/ And yes, I think I'll have to give that one a shot too. The one from the weather channel screws up too much. |
