Absolute Positioning?

I'm just getting started on my new site www.zooyorkfreak.com which is more like a personal blog for me, I trouble shooted alot of the page already but im stuck in one area.

When you Look at the page thru whatever size browser you use the tables move and get out of place on the layout .. is there a way to have them strictly stay where they are and not change when the browser size is manipulated?

Thank yaz

You can explicitly set the table width, and the width of each table cell.

I just read that entire page .. im pretty sure i pulled the right thing out of it? .. is it the justify option? Thing is i want the width and height to be absolute so nothing changes .. the page shows up how its supposed to be.

I am not a huge fan of tables, so I would suggest trying to use the absolute positioning feature with CSS...

I'm not really endeavouring to help much, because I really hate trying to customize layouts for blogs.. I always have fought with them... But if you can't figure it out, I can always make an attempt to be helpful.

Yes, the person who usually helps me out suggested using CSS .. and the DIV layers .. im gonna see how far i can go with that .. sucks i got things semi working .. but things have to line up better in order for me to open up the site for full use.

Btw thanks for the semi-offer .. hehehe

brian -

see this link:
http://emerging-tech.stegenga.net

This is a background 'image' with content div's layed out over it. The background is the css defined background url for the content head or content div (it's really 2 pictures...)
even the buttons (menu) are CSS.
So you can do what you're shooting for as long as you don't get too complicated with the nesting of things...

Greets mate.

If you're referencing having it at a set width and staying centered in the browser window...

body {text-align:center;}
#tableid {width:123px; margin:0 auto; text-align:left;}

that should do her. make sure you don't just set a rule for the table tag because it'll screw up the rest of your tables in the design. just give the outermost one an id="tableid" and you'll be good to go (i think).

just guessing here :p
