A pop up script
I know its easy to find a pop-up script on the internet, but I can find one that works on my PC. I always get a error. Can any recommend a good pop up script?

With your pop-up script. Are you trying to get it to pop-up on a page load or on a user controlled basis? I could scrum up some code if you have no choice. |

Given that many people are using popup blockers, and SP2 comes with one, you might want to try a dhtml pop in block...atleast i think that is what it's called. I used to use one a while back on a site for "The Shield" that would show the count down for how many days were left until the show came back on.

Also -- SP2 (Service Pack 2) from Microsoft Windows really sucks! They default to install so much unnecessary crapola on your computer that you have to reset your browser settings all over again. The new service pack blocks active X, flash, images, etc. by DEFAULT now -- and you must go into the internet explorer settings and change everything all over again. Errors galore happen now even in the most simplest web site design.
This is bad news for many web designers because their sites are not showing properly now and many people do not have the "know-how" experience to change these so called "default" settings in their tools menu of IE... even after reading the "how to's." Why Microsoft did this I will never know -- as it is more of a problem than a solution. They say it's for security -- but good Gawd, enough is enough! Let people make their own decisions about what they want to view -- not Microsoft. That is what I hated about AOL -- and now MS is doing the same thing with their new service pack. They created active X to begin with -- and now they are blocking it by default. Gimmee a break.

Just for informational purposes, it is possible to program images to run as virii. Hard as heck, but possible.

uh, yea... so darkzeroman, what are you trying to accomplish with this pop-up effect?
You pretty much can't do it onLoad because chances are that it will be blocked.

A List Apart did an excellent article on using pop-ups on a website. I find ALA a good resource for finding standards-compliant code.
Since SP2 > Screw IE use Firefox <
