yeaa, we all use cPanel

Yep,
well all use cPanel of course
and i also think cPanel X is pretty easy to use for us, i mean, they are easy to understand and well-organized. apart from on and off buttons there and here =)
honestly, i don't even know if there's something else is nice or not besides cPanel X.

but i guess the poll result will show some feeling regarding to cPanel X
that's what i thought
cheers

The new releases usually have bugs and we have now completed modifying each server so that it won't happen again.

I really like both Ensim and Plesk. Both are very well written products. cPanel is quite buggy and can pose a huge security risk of not properly installed and configured.

I've read about more servers being compromised because of cPanel than because of anything to do with Ensim and Plesk combined. Most of the time the reason for an Ensim or Plesk box security breach is due to some unrelated software or script problem.

cPanel is what I think to be a semi-ghetto coded product. Maybe the developers learned as they were going along.. who knows. I've just noticed a vast catalog of posts on various server-related forums asking to help fix what cPanel has borked.

It is the most user-friendly control panel, for sure, and if properly installed and configured, it can pose little to no threat to a system. The main issue is when new server owners buy cPanel with their server and do nothing but the default install. That would be like buying Windows XP back when Blaster (I think it was) came out, and not updated your computer immediately. I think that was the one that caused people to get the worm within minutes of a new installation being completed, provided the new updates were not installed.

Wouldn't that be the same issue than if someone just installed Plesk or Ensim and didn't do anything but default it?

Nope.

Both control panels come quite secure by default.

cPanel requires a bit of tweaking, is all.

ah, i see. maybe it was just the host that took ensim and screwed around with it. plus they had PHP Safe mode on as well, so I'm sure that had something to do with my problems, such as file uploads not being downloadable via ftp. plus, site backups didn't work. they would always be corrupt. that really got on my nerves.

Ensim is definitely a hard control panel to administer. They may have not been very experienced with it.

Having safe mode on is a very good thing.

not if you want to run some of these photo gallery scripts it's not lol. a problem i had though was with the files i uploaded via my blog or through myalbum in xoops. those files (usually pictures), after being uploaded through the forms in the software, were never able to be downloaded via ftp. it always gave me errors for some reason. i couldn't change their permissions either. thus, i lost all of the uploaded files from my blog when i moved it.
