Modules

Which do you use? Any particular reason why you use one over others? Have any intresting hacks for them?

Almost all of my Xoops sites use the Invision Board module made by Koudanshi. It has many more features than the regular Newbb board, such as image resizing for avatars and profile photos, ability to move more stuff around, plus a plethera of other options that I can but won't go into because it's 5:30am.

I also use the xCgal module, but wish they would update it to the latest version of Coppermine.

The Liase module is also great for creating email forms, and I'm planning on using it on the update to Sidebreak.com when I finally get around to doing it. You can create multiple forms to go to multiple locations. Mucho good and stuff.

So yeah. Potato.

My #1 module is Tiny-D (Tiny Content Duplicatible). It is a module for adding static content to a site. It is based on Tiny Content by Chapi. This version, by GIJOE, allows you to have up to 11 separate copies installed on the same site. It uses the Spaw editor, so people with IE 5.5+ can use wysiwyg. The rest of us get to use the standard xoops editor. I couldn't imagine building a xoops site without it.

I've also started using eXtcal as my calendar of choice. It's written by Zoullou, with some input from Chapi. It's only v1.0, but it's already looking very good.

I use other modules depending on what I need, but those two are at the top of my list.

Failure is not an option. It comes standard with all Microsoft products.

Ah, yes I forgot about Tiny Content. I use the normal one a lot, but I may have to check out the one by GIJoe.

So with Tiny-D when you duplicate it can you name it anything or does it have to go in order like tinycontent, tinycontent1, etc.?

I believe I tried using a different name, and it didn't work. It is my understanding that it is looking for tinycontent, tinycontent0, tinycontent1, etc...

This will max you out at 11 copies. It was mentioned in the notes that you could make a change in the code to allow more copies, but I do believe it's looking for the naming convention above.

Still an awesome thing in my book though.
