CGI and Guestbook Questions...

Hi guys..

I finally got my domain transferred and my page is semi-working order. You can view it here: www.rjbeals.com

2 Questions:
1) I transferred from my previous hosting company (cphosting) who also used cPanel. Can you help me somehow transfer my guestbook from that host to this host? I've had it going for almost 3 years and I really hate to lose all the messages.

2) I'm really stupid when it comes to any kind of scripts. I've tried using the form mail script & a different one i found online, but I cant get them to work. I want my "Contact" page to send me the info to my email rexxun[at]yahoo.com ~ But I cant figure it out..

Here's my HTML as it currently is:

Any suggestions? If someone (admins) wants to go into the page and actually change it for me, i'll take that also

Thanks for any/all help I'm sure i'll get.

In regards to the guestbook transfer, send a ticket to support from http://desk.surpasshosting.com and request it. You will have to provide them with your old user name and password for that cPanel.

For the other one.. I'll leave it for someone else to look at. *G* (or I'll come back later and do it.. cause I'm so nice. )

Try using the FormMail script provided by cPanel: http://yourdomain.com/cgi-sys/FormMail.cgi

Also, you have two <form> tags, which isn't going to help any. Remove the first one and change the action in the second one to reflect the script I mentioned earlier.

Here's an example of the code I use on my site:

Code:
<FORM METHOD=POST ACTION="http://domain.com/cgi-sys/FormMail.cgi">
<input type="hidden" name="recipient" value="accounts[at]domain.com">
<input type="hidden" name="subject" value="Server Order">
<input type="hidden" name="redirect" value="http://www.domain.com/?page=thanks">
It works wonderfully for me.

You're welcome!

That is correct, you may enter any e-mail address that you wish for the recipient.

Okay - I did it, and double checked it, and here's the error message I get:

"Sorry I can't send to rexxun[at]yahoo.com. Is rexxun[at]yahoo.com on this server ? "

Odd, I've never run into that before. Maybe it is going to require that it be an address on the server. In that case, just create a forward and have the form results sent to that, then forwarded to your Yahoo account.

Sorry for the confusion!

Just wanted to say thanks again miakeru - my forms work great now! I did have to create an email account on my server, then redirect it to my yahoo email (I've been using that yahoo email for about 5 years and everyone knows me by that email).

Impressed by how friendly you people are. I normally hang out on the "UltimateMetal.com" forums and they are a bunch of a55h0les
