It's also good to specify a version language with javascript as well, so you would use "javascript 1.x" instead of just "javascript" if you were to do that as well. If you decide to do that, you would just change the language attribute, not the type one.

Most browsers are willing to overlook some coding snafus. The problem is that they don't overlook the same ones.

If you really want to check yourself, download a copy of Opera. It is very strict and won't let you get away with much of anything.

If it renders properly in Opera, it'll have a good chance in both IE and Firefox, at least that's what I've found.

The only exception that I've found to that is CSS with IE 5.x. IE 5.x has real issues with CSS that has nothing to do with standards compliance, and everything to do with IE being broken. You may have to code around that.

I'm totally revamping my page right now .. taking out all the javascripts that are B.S. im going to get my page validated first then do the add on's.

I changed the codes for my menu instead of a javascript i just configured a sweet css style shee for my menu ..


but one important thing ... the css style sheet to change the scroll bars in foxfire .. why isn't it working?

You can get a calender implimented that is FireFox friendly.. but it doesn't seem like a big point, so worry about your other things first.

Just remember that w3schools is your friend.

And I'm moving/have moved this topic into the coding forum, since that is what applies, not exactly Shared Hosting Support.

Also, a good way to validate is to first off stay away from javascript, as you've kinda said you're doing. Add it in afterwards bit by bit.

Basically, to create a validated site only takes practice. You'll get better at it as time goes on.
