Static content "front page"

I'm looking at mombo + phpshop for a store I'm working with.

I want "static" content, basically a web page with links to store searches/items to be my "front page" content.

How?

Also - do you have to install the wysiwig editors separately or are they part of the bundle? I know that they're only going to work with IE... but...

Fair question, wrong forum. I was prepared to answer a xoops question and realized your question is about mambo.

Now if want the same question answered about xoops, I'd be glad to help.

John

Failure is not an option. It comes standard with all Microsoft products.

I'm thinking of setting mambo up and checking it out sometime soon. Hopefully it's as good as people are saying.

First part of the question can be answered by simply upgrading your version you have. I assume it's not 4.5.1 -- because that is the latest version and they have a "front page" admin that takes care of everything you need. Perhaps you should upgrade -- it is much better and easier.

The answer to your second question about the WYSIWYG editor is "No" -- you don't have to install anything at all. It comes with a fairly simple one that opens automatically when you edit content. You can, however, download a better component from mamboportal.com... and then install the newer component trhough the mambo admin. It has wayyyyyy more features (css, etc.) and is pretty advanced -- which is very nice. But if you're looking for a basic editor, then the standard one will do the job for you.

If you still need help on how to do the front page -- then tell me what version you are running and I will guide you through it.
