Which themes?

You say they aren't working. What are the symptoms?

If it's a blank page, make sure that the theme isn't nested an extra level deep (ie /themes/mytheme/mytheme), and that the permissions aren't set to read-only by owner (400). I've seen a few that were like that, and it works fine in an environment where permissions don't matter (like windows), but fails in a shared linux environment. Make sure the theme files are set to something like 644.

Lemme know.

John

One of my clients installed her themes exactly as she downloaded them, so of course they did not work. The downloaded themes have extra stuff, there should be a README that tells which parts of the theme package are actually uploaded into the server.

I am betting you have the same problem.

Which themes? The themes aren't very hard to install. As long as they don't have a tar file with them, just upload the theme folder to the theme directory. If there is a tar folder with it, you have to upload it as well, but via the templates manager in xoops.

I'd suggest not using scripta to install with unless you are using the script for test purposes.

Im just using scripta for testing purposes, if I actually go with xoops im gonna download and install it myself. I am using the 7dana.com themes and they dont have readme files in em I upload it to the themes folder, chomd it 777 and switched to it in the prefrences and it just stays the default theme

In the preferences section, right under where you select the default theme, there is an option to "Update module template .html files from themes/your theme.templates directory?". Make sure it is set to "yes".

If that doesn't do it, let me know.

Yeah, what John just said should solve your problem. If not, clear your browser cache as well and try it. Still doesn't work, dump everything in your your template_c folder and try again. That doesn't work....well, show one of us and we should be able to help.

If you clean out the templates_c folder, leave the index.html file in there. Clean out everything else.

Let us know.
