Question Backup -> Restore a home backup

Hi,

I really happy I have done mysql database restore very fast... uncompressed mysql script is about 72 mb!!! and I have done the restoring in 2 times... because is so large and cant do it all ... it cuts itself.

Buy mi question is.. I have 110mb file of full home backup... Do you think that I will be able to restore from cpanel??? I'm trying... , it would be easier doing a upload from FTP... but if I do with restore option from cpanel I will restore also emails and other settings that I had...

I'm kinda in the same prediciment, except I have a 770Mb backup. The thing won't even fit on a CD. Anyway, you won't be able to upload it via cPanel (php has a limit on the max upload size), but after you upload it via FTP, just go into cPanel and force the tar.gz file to extract to the home directory (if you're just uploading a few files), or you can use the backup manager to take care of a full backup for you.

--Update: the connection was reset by peer. (stupid peer). guess my 2.5 hour ftp upload will be a bit lengthened. Grrr --

well... I didn't can upload via cpanel... I'm doing with FTP...

well... I think that it is not also important like mysql restore... because in other host I had to do copy&paste sql instructions on phpmyadmin, and not large copy pastes because It failed... surpass rules!! this time mysql restored in 30 min more or less... in other hosts... I spent one or two entire days for restore sql...

Yes, I agree, surpass is the best! If only my computer was the best, I could possibly upload a backup before my battery runs out. (Crossing fingers). I'm stuck on a wireless network at my university, trying to restore part of my site because an associate corrupted my gallery installation (unfortunately I had a whole bunch of nicely sized pics in it).
