Guestbook admin...

I have a couple of questions on the Guestbook. The book I am running is...
Advanced Guestbook 2.2

It seems that someone hacked into it because all of the places where guests can supply urls to their websites are filled with strange urls leading mostly to Germany.

Also my ADMINISTRATOR user name and password has been changed blocking me access to change anything.

I tried to just delete the database in Cpanel and start over fresh but I cant seem to get it to delete either.

Anyone that might be able to help... please share your recomendations.

Check the author's forum. They have fixes for those hacks you mentioned.

if all you wanted to do was delete the database, you just go to phpmyadmin and select the database that is being used for the guestbook. check all of the guestbook tables and dump them...they all seem to be preceeded with book_

I figured it out finally. Guestbook has been re-created. I still would like information if there is a way to prevent people from spaming the guestbook? Other than blocking IP#s Thanks for your responses to my query.

We just blocked ip addresses on another site I run that had a guest book like that. It seemed to be the easiest way for us to stop spam...but in reality it didn't actually seem to stop much at all. Spammers used different ip addresses and spammed the most useless things.
