:pleasehelp: Here is my dns check. I'm on the pico server it is now 10 25 GMT
Asking root servers about authoritative NS for domain Got DNS list for 'hypermedias.com' from a.gtld-servers.net Found NS record: dns3.surpasshosting.com[64.5.56.18], was resolved to IP address by a.gtld-servers.net Found NS record: dns4.surpasshosting.com[64.5.56.19], was resolved to IP address by a.gtld-servers.net Domain has 2 DNS server(s) Verifying if NS are alive Error fetching SOA from dns3.surpasshosting.com [64.5.56.18], request timed out. Probably DNS server is offline. DNS server dns4.surpasshosting.com[64.5.56.19] is alive and authoritative for domain hypermedias.com 1 server(s) are alive DNS server dns3.surpasshosting.com failed and will be dropped from other tests Check if all NS have the same version Your server has zone version 1061095700 Error fetching NS List from dns4.surpasshosting.com [64.5.56.19], request timed out. Probably DNS server is offline. NS list mismatch: registration authority reports that domain is hosted on following servers: 'dns3.surpasshosting.com; dns4.surpasshosting.com', but DNS server dns4.surpasshosting.com reports domain to be hosted on ''. Please make sure that you configure the same DNS servers in registrar database and on your DNS server. Checking www. records Checking http server www.hypermedias.com [64.5.56.18] Error connecting to HTTP server www.hypermedias.com [64.5.56.18] port 80 : timed out waiting for connection Check mail-servers Domain hypermedias.com has only one mail-server Checking mail server (PRI=0) hypermedias.com [64.5.56.18] Error connecting to mail server hypermedias.com [64.5.56.18] port 25 : timed out waiting for connection Some of your MX do not work properly This kind of failures seems to be happening more than i expect recenty? OK everything is fine now again.

Hi,
The last time Pico was unreachable was on Sept 4 at 2:58 A.M. and it was unreachable for 29 seconds. This morning, Pico was unreachable from 5:12 A.M. to 5:26 A.M. and I admit... SurpassLive went away at 4:34 A.M. and that's the last person that does anything on the forum : ) So there was no announcement. As to why it happens? Honestly, all servers are predicted to have at least one problem every few days (and maybe they won't have one for weeks), Apache fails (the service that allows you to see your website via http in a browser), FTP service is down (yet you can visit your site)... services on a server must restart and sometimes they restart on their own if the system has an error or sees a need to restart. All problems are short lived and you usually will never notice such bursts of absence of a service. Most of the time when someone comes to the forum and posts about an issue, by the time they are done typing-- the problem is over. And I really wouldn't call them problems, they are just natural occurances of servers and sometimes you catch them in the act at just the right (or for us, wrong! hehe) time.

Thank you, I tried my best to explain why things stop working for the shortest of minutes. It can happen with any server, anywhere, doesn't matter how much you pay for it or how closely it's monitored. Some servers go weeks without any errors, and some could pop a few every 15 minutes for an hour! But that never really happens.
Imagine a server feeding websites constantly, 24/7/365... sometimes little things are going to happen. We make sure that the harmless little things don't turn into long periods of downtime. That is what our 24/7 monitoring and logs are all about, and why we have 99% uptime. Thanks for the thumbs up.
