i paid for a semi-dedicated plan for sparclinux.org last week, and the domain is still resolving to the old ip address. i believe that some people are seeing the site at the new ip address, but most name servers i've done nslookups against are showing the old ip address. i can access cpanel via both ip's as well. basically i'm just downright confused at to what exactly is going on here. any help is greatly appreciated.

Your DNS are set to:
NameServer NS19.xxNameServer NS20.xxI look up domains at whois.sc I'm on a Mac and use WhatRoute to ping domains. These are my results for your domain: PING from: ceska.x to: sparclinux.org (x.x.175.10) Every 500 mSecs PKT# RESULT TIME(ms) LENGTH Min Avg Max Timestamp 1 success 93 40 93 93 93 9/23/03 1:44:32 PM 2 success 80 40 80 86 93 9/23/03 1:44:33 PM 3 success 90 40 80 87 93 9/23/03 1:44:34 PM 4 success 124 40 80 96 124 9/23/03 1:44:35 PM 5 success 95 40 80 96 124 9/23/03 1:44:36 PM Your site is pointed to our DNS and is resolving perfectly to the DNS. I am curious as to what programs/sites you are using to check the NS records?

i was given a new ip of x.x.56.18 to log into my new cpanel, which is where i assumed that sparclinux.org would be pointing to, but it is still pointing to x.x.175.10. am i wrong in this or no? i was also told that there would be less than 100 hosts on this box, but there are 290 other domains, exactly the number that was on the old (or possibly the same) box. what's going on?

How could it be the same box?? different IP
the reason why you can still access on the old server was because we kept you on both boxes at no extra cost to avoid minimal to no downtime your site is coming up on the new server and it has been I made sure of that when I moved you. some isp's lag a bit more in updating dns, which is why I suspect is going on here. |
