I read through this great forum but, I could not find the exact answer I was looking for... Well, found all answers but the following actually...
Before I purchased my Bronze reseller package here I had already registered a domain name through discountdomainregistry. (I'll call my domain there discount.com for this discussion) I purchased another domain here with surpass when I signed up for the Bronze package. (surpass.com for this discussion) I created custom nameservers to reflect my new domain name I registered here. Then, I added an account in my WHM for the discount.com domain. I went to discountdomainregistry and changed my nameservers to my new custom nameservers here. I also ticked the radio button there from forward to park. The IP address area there said that I must use thier nameservers to use their DNS manager. However, in the A records area there I still entered my IP that was sent to me from surpasshosting like: host___________IP www my.ip.for.now * my.ip.for.now (blank) my.ip.for.now Is that all I need to do here AND there? I hate to wait up to 72 hours to see I did it wrong.... I was especially concerned about the park/forward radio. Thanks so much oh great gurus of the server...

well you dont want to tell them to "park"
If you setup custom ns records you point them to NS1.YourReseller.Com and NS2.YourReseller.Com for you and any of your customers you would tell them to use surpasses, or your custom NS Dns record. No 'parking' involved here. parking would mean you want them to hold on to it saying this domain is under construction or whatever..

Thank you for the blazingly fast response..
I will go back re-tick the forward radio button there. They only give me those two options. I won't specify a forwarding address. The A record entry should take care of this right? Thanks again... :bananadance:

so once you have an account they will tell you what DNS/NS servers to use. If you are a reseller and you have your OWN DNS/NS Records and theyre setup ok.. any future domains need to be pointed there
once the account is in your WHM, it should work.. but u need to have an account 1st' and there are MANY DNS/NS servers here.. Not sure which ones you will be on..

Ok... My www.discount.com domain (the one I got at discountdomainregistry and entered my custom nameservers from here) works half way now. A couple days ago I added the domains account via the WHM in my bronze package and the domain name is now leading to the root properly. However, drop the www and guess what, not working. Can someone tell me what is happening and help me figure this out.. Thanks in advance.

Seems to have resolved itself.... I did not do anything in the dns settings. However, for future reference, how do you flush your dns cache? In addition, seems like none of the php scripts get "auto installed" correctly. I have had to change permissions. Even to modify the advanced guestbook templates through its admin panel I had to go in and change some permissions. I also cannot get the USPS module to work in the os-commerce script. I have an account with USPS and am currently communicating this problem with them as well trying to find the problem. I have even un-installed and re-installed. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks for all the help.. Jim

Maybe I should put those last couple probs in a different topic sorry... lemme know... I am just trying to evaluate all these awesome scripts to find out which ones work easily and which ones don't. This way I can remove the paininthebutt scripts from my bronze reseller package features so my clents don't get too frustrated. So far, there has been many problems. Nuke won't install, I get a "Serious problem while fetching quota data (quota): Megabytes" in a reseller account with lots of space left, and not one of the php or cgi scripts has actually worked without my intervention. (No problems with mail accounts/configs at all though. Very nice..) I still don't know if the os-commerce prob is a USPS prob or on my end here. :surpass: All in all however, take all the scripts off a package, it is still a great deal and a fast server. I usually write my own PERL/PHP scripts anyhooo.. I thank all in advance who can help me get this all going...
