Riddle me this... (DNS transfer question)
Ohhhhhh... I thought I was so clever. I kept all my old files on the old server and then the pretty, pretty tech people (THANK YOU, LEENA!) moved my files over for me and I changed my DNS. But I have blogs, and I need to have the DNS pointing to the correct installation in order for the blogging software to work.
So... I picked a specific image from each site, buried in the site so I'd be the only one to notice it was gone, and deleted it from the old server. This way, as soon as I see the image - blammo! I know we're solid at the new location. Clever, right? Except the image showed up - then disappeared. Then showed up. Then disappeared, on all three of my domains. But when I use my cpanel through the main domain name (rather than the IP address) it brings up the Surpass hosting cpanel (which has icons instead of just text like my old host's cpanel.) So... what do we think is going on? I've checked for the image files on the Surpass account - they're there. But they're not on the old web host account. I'm totally confused - I don't want to start configuring everything until I'm sure I'm making changes to the right installation of my blogging software. I'm so confused. Brain. Exploding. Ohh, pretty. Little bits of brain. ![]() Help. |

Your ISP uses more than one nameserver. One has been updated, the other has not yet gotten the new information.

If you have windows you can flush out your DNS:
Go to your start menu, and select run. Then type in (without the quotes) "cmd" Then type in (without the quotes) "ipconfig /flushdns" |

You can also check your domain on mutiple DNS servers here:
http://www.mob.net/~ted/tools/ I have been using that to check on my MX and DNS updates after repointing them Surpass. PuckChaser
