2 domains to one server?

I used one of the surpass hosting packages, and recently bought another domain name. i was wondering if there is any way to set it up like so:

i have domain name "www.domain1.com", which is using the server.

I now also have "www.domain2.com", with no server, and i want it to go to 'www.domain1.com".

any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

In Christ,
Daniel Crowe

Yes, use Add-on domain in cPanel, to add domain 2.

Then use Redirect in cPanel to redirect domain 1 to domain 2.

NO!

Just use the PARKED domain function. Works much smoother. Using redirects with Addons is a sure and simple way to make a mess out of the servers DNS zone....

I guess if I had the option to PARK a domain, then I would. However with my shared plan, I have 0 of 0 parked domains available.

So perhaps the original poster could elaborate on their hosting plan then we can see what their options are......

It also matters if they want domain2.com to show up as domain1.com or domain2.com. By default the parked domain will show up as domain2.com. If they want it to show up as something different, they can still use the parked domain feature, and then open a ticket and ask support to manually change it to show up as domain1.com.

Otherwise a redirect would also work.

What plan do you have, Power now has the ability for 10 add-on domains. If you want to use a parked domain, I am sure support would let you, just open a ticket and ask them.

With my power plan, I have 10 add-ons and 10 parked domains I can have. Using 3 add-ons and one parked domain currently. markrh.com = markheadrick.com but the address bar shows whatever domain you entered (no redirection). Not sure if this is how I want to keep it or not, but it works for now.

So, any new users should have at least this much available (I still haven't made them adjust my space from 5GB to 200GB or whatever it is these days, since I'm only using 500mb or so).

Sorry, you are not allowed to add any more than ( 0 ) parked domains!
Guess I'll open a ticket and see what they say...

Opened a ticket, and what they did was subtract 5 add on domains, and added them to the available parked domains.

So, now I can take Big John's advice and keep the DNS zones clean.
