A Records

Hi guys

I was wondering if anyone knows away to add an A Record to a sub domain. Can you only add that A Record to the primary domain and it will just be used with the sub?

From what i've read the A Record is the only way to setup what i'm looking for.

Just out of curiosity, what are you trying to setup?

Maybe that could provide some options...

Also, could depend on your registar and how much control they give you.

I have some of my domains pointed to dnsexit.com , they have free control panel that gives you full control of your dns (A record / CNAME / MX ) . All you do is create an account there, point your domains to their nameservers, and then edit your dns record on dnsexit.com

Maybe that would do it for you.

i want it basically as a redirect to a Ventrillo server. ie the vent server has an ip address thats static, but i want to be able to give ppl something like vent.iron-circle.com that they can use to log into the server. so it won't be used for www access at all.

if i had control of the domain i would just enter the A record myself... unfortunately i don't have access so i can't change anything.

i will check out that site you mentioned and see if it has any options for me.
