How To: Create Custom Name Servers At Godaddy

Recently I had to create custom name servers at Go Daddy, which used to be a simple process.

It still is, but they changed where it is located since the redesign, so here is a how-to for those interested in creating your own ns servers.

1. Log into Go Daddy, and then click on Domains, followed by My Domain Names
2. Click on the Domain name that you want to create the custom name servers for.
3. Scroll all the way to bottom and under Host Summary, click on View/Modify.
4. Now simply fill in the host name and Host IP.

Example: Host Name 1: ns1.yourdomain.com Host IP 1: 71.11.11.11
Host Name 2: ns2.yourdomain.com Host IP 2: 72.22.22.22

(where yourdomain.com) is your domain.

Now for you resellers, you can give your customers your own nameservers rather than using something else.

You can also click on Name servers for that same domain, and point them to ns1.yourdomain.com rather than what was provided in the welcome email.
